My son’s first little pet was a beta named Max. That little guy lived MUCH longer than he was supposed to. 😉

That was a surprise ending for me too…but really sweet. Goldfish don’t seem to usually get much respect as far as pets go… 🙂

Your poem is making me think about our Mathew (he was a Beta fish, but we still loved the raging beast). It is incredible, the memories that root from the wee hearts we bring home and add to our families.
