SONNET

You Left Your Knickers On The Bedroom Floor

You left your knickers on the bedroom floor.
There’ll be a price to pay one day, for sure.
Why can’t you put them in the laundry bin?
To me it’s such a wrong and filthy sin.

You know my BP’s going up, but still
you throw your knickers on the floor at will.
Beware of repercussions presently.
Most dire consequences, you will see.

I cannot stand for laziness and sloth.
I almost wish I’d never pledged my troth.
I warned you, dear, but that was all in vain.
I’ll never pick your knickers up again.

You’ll never pick my knickers up again.
I’m leaving on the nineteen forty train.
