Cakation
They took me from the oven when my coat was golden brown,
then coloured me ornately and adorned me with a crown.
‘She’s perfectly delectable’, they gathered round and said.
I was ready for my hols but they had other plans instead.
Their mouths began to water in excitement for their treat.
So I ran for it. They’re sorry now they gave me cakey feet.

  1. This is a sweet poem. I especially love the last line about the cakey feet !. I can imagine the cake making off thanks to its cakey feet.
