Would I Return

d'verse

A prompt by Adhra for d’verse – poets pub
So today I ask this question to you – do you want to reborn as who you are? Do you think you could come back like a bird? What would you be looking for if you come back?

Eagle

Would I return where once I trod
this mortal stage of transitory breath

to soar on wing of eagle skimming forest pine
that nestle with the verdant heath

or glide with dolphin grace in oceans
deep and free of earthly woe

these antics, tho’ romantically ideal
are not in me

this soul will not return

because
in love
I will abide

And never leave.

About ShirleyB

I was born with the muse in me. Sometimes I wish it would go away but it won't, so, good, bad or ugly it will escape intermittently.

I like this. We will indeed (hopefully) live a long time in the memories of those who have loved us. I cherish this hope as well.

      • SMiLes.. No time in heaven now beyond infinity.. Beyond fire.. All time in hell as infinity.. To fully understand this one must go to both places in different nows.. The lesSon of eternity now.. Some folks call it the dark night of the soul or meeting Karma and the God of nature allthatis face to face.. For me at least.. Yes the adventure one Lifenow.. finding no time now as eternal in heaven and the anti-now.. In the other place.. That question can inspire a novel.. my friend.. Thanks.. I’ll finish the rest of it.. On my blog.. wInks.. Just for fun..:)

I believe we both go and stay. The eye of the soul knows no time or space but knows all 🙂
